Work Experience

This is no average university…

Client
The Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management at Florida International University (FIU)

Year
2024-current

At The Chaplin School, no two days are alike. I coordinate everything from South Beach Wine & Food Festival promotions to brand partnerships with Bacardi and Southern Glazer’s, all while supporting growing recruitment goals and refreshing the university’s brand identity. It’s fast, complex, and the kind of position that requires an agile work approach.

Welcome to FIU Hospitality

From concept to final cut, my team produced this promotional video in collaboration with a content team — directing students and faculty to tell the story of FIU’s vibrant, fast-paced hospitality culture.

I supported our jump in U.S. rankings from #6 to #4 through a strategic year long comms plan — driving visibility with a coordinated press and email campaign to keep our brand top-of-mind for global industry partners.

Bringing together Miami’s Hospitality Power Leaders

This high-stakes industry roundtable — bringing together seven C-suite leaders, a 9-camera AV production, and the South Florida Business Journal helped us maximize PR value and industry relationships.

Outcomes from the Round Table

Strategic follow-up helped this event secure two major partnerships, including a new course on beverage entrepreneurship and a strengthened connection with major cruise lines.

The Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival presented by Capital One (SOBEWFF®)

The Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival presented by Capital One (SOBEWFF®) is widely recognized as America’s most prestigious culinary event showcasing global hospitality talents and celebrities.

FIU is the direct beneficiary of the festival– as of 2025, more than $40 million has been raised.
This past year, I helped lead FIU’s presence— developing booth design, coordinating PR (including a Miami Herald op-ed by Rachael Ray), and managing 360° media coverage across four action-packed days

Through strategic weekly efforts combining outreach, SEO, digital marketing, and PR, we managed to achieve the following metrics over an 8 month period starting in June.

Online News Audience

1,350,009,818

Total national TV Audience

6,010,853

Total Local Tv Audience

Total Social Accounts Reached

Strengthening Legacy and Impact in the Media

We landed a major win in the press: Festival Personality and Food Network star Rachel Ray, whose assistant is an FIU alumni, penned an op-ed for the Miami Herald, praising FIU students for their behind-the-scenes impact at SOBEWFF®.

Record Behavior- Developing Meaningful Brand Identity

Record Behavior

Record Behavior is a local DJ collective organized by @Lotusoph, an artist merging community and sustainability, that celebrates the art of vinyl. I collaborated with them to develop their visual identity—designing their logo and the first wave of event flyers.

Behind the logo- To honor the organizer’s stage name, Lotusoph, we integrated a 3D lotus flower into the visual identity. Collaborating with a 3D designer, we dissected the bloom and spotlighted the stamen, the flower’s strongest, most restorative part. This symbol became central to the identity of Record Behavior, a community-driven project rooted in sustainability and analog culture.

Creative Direction on a budget

As Creative Director for this Bi-coastal fashion brand, I shaped everything from casting to campaign visuals — ensuring the brand voice stayed consistent across print, social, and web.

Combining AI tools with human-centered storytelling.

Our hybrid content approach proved that emerging tech and authentic storytelling don’t have to be at odds — they can complement and elevate each other.

For this shoot, I led creative direction from concept to execution — casting models whose style and energy aligned with the brand’s identity, and guiding the visual narrative to feel both authentic and familiar. The goal was to represent youth culture in settings familiar to myself and my peers, each and everyone of us, still learning how to adult.

Challenge: Creating authentic Gen Z moments

Curating modern strategies for a local business

For my freelance client The CAMP Gallery, a contemporary art gallery in North Miami, I led a complete Digital Marketing overhaul– introducing small, efficient tactics to increase reach and engagement. I set up and managed automated sales-foucused email campaigns, created trendy social media content, and executed omni-channel graphics to market exhibitions.

Teaching an old business model new tricks

One of the areas that significantly improved the Gallery’s social reach by 45% was my curated effort to produce engaging short-form content on META.
Faced with stagnant engagement on their account despite a healthy following, I helped institute new best practices to re-invigorate their audience.

Pop Stars & Palm Trees - Miami Girly Pop

For Maria Pino, emerging Latin Pop artist blending tropical pop with acoustic heart, I helped shape a cohesive visual strategy that amplified her music’s unique vibe. Through cover art, social media collateral, and art direction, we produced successful rollouts for two singles, Buscate Otra and Eres mi Luz. (Buzzwords - we earned 600% growth on YouTube & META through best practices, consistent posting, and UGC campaign management / Latin Music Business, mentioned as a Billboard artist to watch 2021, went platinum in the Dominican Republic)

This sun-drenched summer anthem called for visuals that felt as bold and playful as the track itself. I designed the single cover, led photography, and created the social launch assets — all anchored in tropical color and Y2K pop energy.

Buscate Otra

For this stripped-back, acoustic follow-up, I pivoted the visual direction to match a more introspective tone. The goal was to balance the intimacy of the song through a moody, New York palette, while keeping some classic reggaeton motifs like stark gothic fonts, and acrylic extensions.

Helping brands make fun of themselves

Miami loves a dirty joke, so why hide from that fact when you’re already in the sausage business?
